2nd July 2011 - The Henley Experience

Today I left Sonning at 0800 and ended up in Marlow at 1330. I'm not going to say too much, but here are some pictures.

Two of these came cruising by before I set off:

I thought I was going to have Sonning Lock all to myself, The Devon Belle had other ideas:

All I can say is I really enjoyed cruising by the regatta, I seriously thought about going back! It was so much fun. The queues of boats at Hambledon and Hurley locks were incredible, must have been 2 - 3 hours worth at Hurley! I was only going to stop for shopping in Marlow, but can't be bothered to untie and head off again, so early start in the morning. Now, where's the nearest Indian take-away?

Today:   14 miles -     6 locks -  5.5 hours
So Far: 339 miles - 283 locks - 172 hours
